
Jammu, Aug 25:The Ministry of MSME, Jammu, organized an Entrepreneurship cum Skill Development Programme on Cutting and Tailoring of Readymade Garments to promote awareness on entrepreneurship and skill-building in the textile and garment sector. At the outset, Mr. Vinu Jee Koul, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO Jammu and Coordinator of the Programme, welcomed the participants, outlined the objectives and benefits of the initiative, and introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO, SMVDU-TBIC and Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Dr. Mohan delivered an engaging session on the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in
driving innovation, self-reliance, and employment generation, while sharing examples of successful entrepreneurs to inspire the participants. He also apprised the audience of various Government schemes and initiatives supporting startups. Explaining the entrepreneurial journey from idea to incubation and enterprise creation, Dr. Mohan underlined the crucial role of incubation centres in nurturing businesses. The session remained highly interactive, with Dr. Mohan addressing participants queries and encouraging them to leverage available opportunities for entrepreneurial growth.
